Fond memories don't necessarily always have to be those of overwhelming happiness. There are some memories that take you back to a time in your life- when you were naive, when you were a different person, when you had no clue what you were getting yourself into. Some memories might be somewhat painful, but yet you cherish them because you know that at that moment, you were changed as a person forever. Sometimes we have to experience pain, hurt, regret, disgust- so that we may look back at ourselves and be thankful for where we are now. These fond memories are what we will look back upon, wishing if only we could go back again. You know what I'm talking about. "Remember that time when?... Oh, yes. Yes indeed. That was nuts." These moments, whether proudly or less so, will give us something to think back upon and smile about for the rest of our lives. These moments are vital to our growing up, and teach us lessons about ourselves as people. So, all of those painfully awkward memories of a time when you didn't have a clue? Just recall fondly, and laugh. A lot.
